I've known Jerry for years, and he always seems to know golfers that are going to do well before they actually do well. So he's been amazing and kind of recognizing who fits well for what course and who's playing good golf at a certain time. So I look forward to hearing what he has to say to set this up. They are playing in Western San Francisco, so you'll be a little bit time delayed

The irons are going to be a little shorter than normal, so those that can hit it longer definitely will still have an advantage over the rest of the field, especially coming out of these roughs where I was watching a little bit yesterday, then warm up. According to what lie you get in the rough. You may have to just hack one out 30 or 40 yards, or you may get lucky enough to have a decent light where you can take a shot at the green

So I hope that you'll come back on and tell us how things are going, what you're seeing and maybe some names to watch out for that you hadn't that are kind of snuck up on us. So look forward to that this weekend. I didn't hear any mention of Phil or Tiger, so I assume that do you think they're going to be way way back?
Jerry Schultz

I think he does, but it just doesn't pay that well to throw them in there as far as at the end of the day, making a little money DeChambeau. I have no reason to believe he doesn't finish in the top ten either as long as he hits it. If that guy is in the fairway, then yeah, he's going to be right there on the leaderboard as well. But once again, the odds just aren't always there for you

But that's a lot to overcome. But that's all I had for today. I think, like I said, watch those fairways. This tournament, watching these fairway shots, it's going to be very exciting. And once they get into the rough, that's game on, you can start adding strokes and get your pencil out there, because that's going to add a lot of strokes to a lot of holes

He's making his move subtly. He moved up 22 slots today, and Schultz feels like he is really just kind of lurking and will make his move tomorrow. So watch for that. Watch Dustin Johnson tomorrow. Shelter thinks he's going to move. And I saw an interview with Tiger Woods and he actually confirmed exactly what ours said. And he said sometimes balls go into the trees and they just don't come down. Tiger played golf at Stanford not too far away, so he knows the course

Irish I don't mean to be a smartass, but the trick to playing golf is to put the ball in the fairway and keep it in the fairway. Maybe if you stopped aiming for the trees, you wouldn't lose balls in the trees
Call in Morikawa just said that E Gale on 16th to take the lead. It's an interesting day, and since he's a local boy, I'm rooting for him now. Earlier I had no favorites. So let's see if we can finish for people watching or listening. The lack of crowds. Do you think it helps young and inexperienced kind of players like Colin play better? Would they have crumble more easily if there was a huge crowd following?
Jerry Schultz
@Schultzie · 1:02
Yes, I would agree with that about the crowd. I think those are two things that I never really thought about until this weekend, but not having the crowd out there. If you get paired with Tiger or Rory or any of the top players. Really, you got such a big crowd following you. I do believe the younger players that probably adds a lot of added pressure for them that they're not having right now. And two with the majors and a rough being so thick
